Black Bean Hummus

So yummy! Great as a dip or a spread for sandwiches.

1 can black beans, no or low salt, drained
2 Tablespoons water
2 Tablespoons fresh lemon juice
2 Tablespoons of Mrs. Dash no salt seasoning (I love lime/chili flavor)
2 Tablespoons Tahini
2 teaspoons Bragg liquid aminos or low sodium soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon ground cumin
1/2 clove garlic, chopped (I used 2 roasted garlic cloves)
pinch of cayenne pepper, or to taste ( I left it out because of the Mrs. Dash flavor)
pinch paprika, for garnish

Directions:
Blend all ingredients, except paprika, in a food processor or blender.
Process until smooth, scraping down sides as needed.
Add additional seasoning and liquid to taste.
Garnish with paprika.

Serve with raw veggies, or pita chips.

  1. Alex and I love hummus. Great on sandwiches. I've been thinking about making at home...now I have a new recipe to try. Thanks!

  2. No problem. I made a roll-up using this as a spread on a tortilla and then adding tons of veggies. So good!
